Incompetent Government Solutions
As a person who partied quite a bit in high school and college, I can tell you that banning 190 proof alcohols will not have any noticeable affect on alcohol consumption by minors. Most high school and college parties have beer and maybe some vodka or whiskey. And yes I went to high school and college in a state that sells 190 proof grain alcohols. Oddly enough, that same state doesn't sell beer over 3.2% except in liquor stores that cannot have refrigeration and have severely limited hours. Wine is considered liquor. Let's get back to the ban on 190 proof or 95% alcohol. The article in which I read about this has a quote from a manager of a liquor store “But the biggest sale of it was for labs and stuff. It's used as a cleaning solvent.” Once more we have disrupted the common good to in order to implement an inadequate solution to a problem. Then again, West Virginia isn't known for its academics.
