Been there, done that, got my tee shirt.
oh my god, this is so true, leonard. i can't count the times that i've heard that. even at a la mode. (but you know all about that...) where they supposedly cared about functionality.
"that's all great, *but* can we move that button, darken the text, and oh, wow -- that animation is sweeeet."
"but how about how it works?"
"it would work better if that button was further down the page."
keep it simple and they will forget about how it works under the hood. all they can say is, neato.
