"Method 'Columns' of object 'IImexGrid' failed"

When you attempt to link to, or import from an Excel spreadsheet from within Access you may get an error "Method 'Columns' of object 'IImexGrid' failed".

This is due to the spreadsheet having blank columns.  Access will ignore columns that are truly blank; however, it will attempt to import columns that have formatting but no data in them.

You can either ignore the error and select do not import for the offending columns, or you can remove the formatted columns from the spreadsheet.
